Joel Tucker, Chapter President Joel Tucker is the Human Resources Director for Washington County, Utah, where he leads county-wide HR programs focused on compliance, employee relations, and organizational development. With over a decade of public-sector leadership experience, Joel previously served as Director of the Washington County Library System, managing eight branches and a staff of more than 75. An active SHRM volunteer, Joel has held several roles with the Color Country Human Resource Association, including President, Membership Director, and President-Elect. He holds an MBA with a concentration in Human Resources from American Military University and a BA in English from the University of Utah, and is certified as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR). |
Kristi Jones, SHRM-CP, President Elect Kristi is a seasoned human resources professional with over 18 years of experience in HR, office management, and operations across banking, retail, and service industries. She currently serves as Human Resources Assistant at Cache Valley Bank and has held key HR and management roles at Kristi Diesel Service, Walmart, and other organizations. Kristi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of La Verne and an Associate of Arts from Crafton Hills College. Beyond her professional career, she is an active volunteer and leader in HR associations, including the Color Country Human Resource Association (CCHRA), where she has served as President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Volunteer Coordinator. She also supports community organizations such as the Little Valley Water Users Association, demonstrating a commitment to both professional development and civic engagement. |
Sean Monson, Legislative Chair Sean A. Monson focuses his practice in employment counseling and litigation and real estate litigation and transactions. He has represented several large and small Utah businesses in litigation matters involving claims for wrongful termination, discrimination, covenants not to compete, WARN Act disputes, OSHA infractions, and labor disputes. He has represented title companies, businesses and individuals in real property transactions and litigation matters involving boundary, ownership, title insurance and priority of interest lawsuits. He has also represented companies in multimillion dollar real estate purchase and sale transactions as wells as lending, development and leasing agreements. He has appeared before planning commissions and city councils on behalf of real estate developers regarding entitlement and zoning disputes throughout the Wasatch Front. He is the current chair of the Bountiful City planning commission. |

Shauna Ottesen, Treasurer Shauna Ottesen, born in Salt Lake City, Utah, is a proud Utah Tech alumna and the first in her family to start a tradition of attending the university. A music scholarship allowed her to participate in the show choir Counterpoint, Concert Choir, and Program Bureau, where she performed, choreographed, and helped foster campus unity. Since 1998, Shauna has performed with the a cappella group Fourte’ and has been an active member of the Utah Tech University Alumni Board since 2000, including serving as past Vice President of Public Relations. Professionally, she has built a long career in banking, most recently serving as Human Resource Officer Vice President at Cache Valley Bank. |
Kathryn Tschudy, SHRM-CP, Communications Chair Kathryn is an experienced HR professional with a strong background in recruitment, employee relations, and HR operations. Currently, [he/she/they] serves as Human Resources Generalist at Dairy Farmers of America. Previously, Kathryn held HR roles at Orgill, Inc., Burgeson’s Heating, A/C, Electrical, Solar & Plumbing, and Amazon, managing recruitment, talent development, and operational HR functions. Kathryn earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of La Verne and an Associate of Arts from Crafton Hills College, and is a certified SHRM-CP. With expertise in applicant tracking systems, soft skills training, and team development, she brings a practical, results-driven approach to supporting both employees and organizational goals. |
Chris Healy, College Relations Chair
Christine Healy is a seasoned HR professional, educator, and consultant with experience in higher education, corporate, and nonprofit sectors. At Utah Tech University, she teaches courses in Human Resource Management, Organizational Behavior, and Management while advising student clubs and mentoring future HR leaders. Christine has held HR leadership roles at Southern Utah University, Performance Food Group, Sysco, Wells Enterprises, and McLane Company, directing HR operations, employee engagement, and organizational development initiatives for hundreds of employees. Active in the HR community, she serves on boards including Switchpoint Community Resource Center and the Harvard Business Review Advisory Council. |

Genessa Hager, SHRM SCP - Certification Chair Genessa Hager is an accomplished HR professional with over 18 years of experience partnering with diverse teams across finance, manufacturing, technology, and service industries. She currently serves as Senior Human Resources Consultant at Volkswagen Financial Services, supporting both front- and back-office teams, and has previously held key HR leadership roles at GEM Mortgage, Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream, Esri, and BWI Aviation Insurance Agency. A certified SHRM-SCP with a CA Law Specialty Credential, Genessa holds a B.A. in Liberal Arts and Sciences from Arizona State University and an Associate of Arts from Riverside City College. She is also actively involved in HR professional development, serving as Director of Certification for the Color Country Human Resources Association and previously as Chapter President of Kern County SHRM, contributing to education, networking, and certification initiatives in the HR community. |
